An oval cut lab grown diamond in four claws with a tapered baguette lying flat against each side, held not by claws but by a squared bar of metal capping its outer end, on a plain rounded band.

A bar setting is the reason this ring looks as clean as it does. A baguette held in claws has four small beads sitting on its corners, and on a stone whose whole character is straight lines and sharp corners those beads are an interruption. Instead the baguette here is slotted between two walls of metal: the collar of the centre stone at its inner end and a short squared bar at its outer end, gripping the stone across its full width at each end and leaving both long sides completely free. Nothing sits on top of the stone at all. Because a tapered baguette is wider where it meets the oval and narrows as it travels outward, the eye is carried along the finger and the head appears to extend rather than stop, and the bar at the end acts as a full stop that resolves the line cleanly. The stones are set low and flat, level with the girdle of the oval rather than raised, so the whole head sits close to the finger. The band is plain and rounded with nothing set into it.

Yes. It has the same carbon crystal structure, the same hardness of 10 on the Mohs scale and the same optical behaviour as a mined diamond, and it is graded on the same scales by the same laboratories.

Does the ring come with a certificate
Yes. An IGI certificate for the center stone is included at no extra charge.

What is a bar setting
The stone is slotted between two walls of metal that grip it across its full width at each end, rather than being held by claws on its corners. Nothing sits on top of the stone.

Why bar set a baguette rather than claw set it
A baguette is all straight lines and sharp corners, and claw beads sitting on those corners interrupt them. A bar leaves both long sides completely clean.

What is a tapered baguette
A step cut rectangle that is wider at one end than the other. Set with the wide end against the centre stone, it carries the eye outward along the finger.

How is this different from your other baguette and step cut sided rings
Others use claw set tapered baguettes, bullet cuts that come to a point, trapezoids, or emerald cuts. This is the only one where the side stones are bar set with no metal on top of them.

Are bar set stones secure
Yes, very. The metal grips the full width of each end rather than four small points, and there is nothing raised to catch and lever a stone loose.

Do step cut sides show inclusions more
Yes, their long open facets hide far less than a brilliant does, which is why we use VS clarity for these side stones.

Can this ring be resized
Yes, comfortably. The shank is plain and unset.
