An oval cut lab grown diamond in six claws with a large round brilliant on each side and a marquise beyond it, all carried on a band of two strands that wind around one another and are pave set along their entire length.

This is the fully loaded version of a twist shank. Both strands are set, not one, and they are set right around the finger rather than stopping at the shoulders, so from every angle the band is a pair of glittering ropes crossing over one another with no plain metal visible anywhere except the very inside. Where a single set strand pulses light and shadow as it turns, two set strands produce a continuous braided line, and the crossings read as bright knots rather than as dark gaps. That much light on the shank would normally overwhelm a centre stone, which is why the accents beside the head are scaled up rather than kept small. A substantial round sits against each side of the oval, large enough to hold its own against the busy band, and a marquise lies beyond it pointing outward along the finger to close the group. The result is a ring where the eye travels from a bright braided shank, through two graduated accents, into the oval, and every step of that journey is lit. The head itself is plain six claw work with no halo, because a halo on top of all this would leave nowhere for the eye to rest.

Band details

The shank is built from two strands that wind around one another from the head right round the finger, both pave set along their full length. The inner surface against the finger is smooth and comfort rounded.

Choose 925 sterling silver, or 10K, 14K or 18K gold in yellow, rose or white. Every metal is fully hallmarked. White gold is shown in the photographs, where the metal between the pave disappears and the two strands read as pure braided light.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond
Yes. It has the same carbon crystal structure, the same hardness of 10 on the Mohs scale and the same optical behaviour as a mined diamond, and it is graded on the same scales by the same laboratories.

Does the ring come with a certificate
Yes. An IGI certificate for the center stone is included at no extra charge.

Why are both strands pave set
To produce a continuous braided line of light rather than the alternating light and shadow you get when only one strand is set. It is the brighter of the two treatments and suits someone who wants maximum sparkle.

Why are the side accents so large
Because a fully set twist shank is very bright. Small accents beside the head would be swallowed by it, so they are scaled up to hold their own.

Is there a halo
No. With this much light on the shank a halo would leave the eye nowhere to rest, so the head is plain six claw work.

Does this ring sit flush with a wedding band
Not with a straight band, because the shank surface undulates. We make a twisted band cut to match, and most customers order the two together.

Can this ring be resized
Within about one size. Beyond that the twist changes pitch and the pave spacing goes out, so we prefer to remake the shank.

How long does the ring take to make
Both strands are wound, soldered and then pave set by hand before the larger accents go in, so allow twenty two to twenty six working days before dispatch.
