An oval cut lab grown diamond is held above a band set with round diamonds in shared prongs, each stone slightly smaller than the one before it as the line travels away from the centre. There is no metal channel and no bead work. Each accent is gripped between two prongs that also hold its neighbour, so almost nothing but diamond is visible along the top of the shank.

Shared prong setting is what gives this ring its brightness. Because so little metal sits between the stones, light enters each accent from the sides as well as from above, and the shoulders read as a continuous run of white fire rather than a row of small dots.

Band details

The shank carries the graduated accents along its upper half and returns to plain polished metal at the back of the finger. What is a shared prong setting?
Each prong holds two neighbouring stones at once instead of one stone having four prongs of its own. It uses far less metal, so more of every accent stays visible and the row looks brighter than channel or bead set alternatives.

Why graduate the accent sizes?
Graduating the stones draws the eye inward toward the centre diamond and makes the head look larger. It also lets the shank taper naturally toward the back of the finger.

Does an oval look bigger than a round?
Yes. For the same carat weight an oval spreads further across the finger, so it reads larger face up than a round brilliant.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond?
Yes. A lab grown diamond has the same carbon crystal structure, hardness, refractive index and fire as a mined diamond. The only difference is that it was grown in a controlled environment rather than pulled from the ground.

Will a wedding band sit flush?
