An oval cut lab grown diamond in four claws, on a band set with round diamonds that step down in size as they move away from the centre stone. These are not pave. The stone nearest the head is large enough to be read on its own, and each one after it is slightly smaller, so the shoulders taper visually as well as physically. It is an older way of building a shoulder set ring and it makes the centre stone look considerably larger than a uniform pave row does.

Band details

The shank carries the graduated stones along the top of both shoulders and stops before the base of the finger. Because the stones reduce in size the band appears to narrow towards the back, even though the metal itself stays even.

Metal options

Choose 925 sterling silver with rhodium plating, or solid 10K, 14K or 18K gold in yellow, rose or white. White gold, rhodium finished, gives the bright continuous look shown in the photographs and lets the graduation read as one flowing line. Yellow gold marks each side stone separately. Rose gold is the warmest. Every metal is hallmarked and every carat weight is available in every metal.

Is the centre stone a real diamond
Yes. A lab grown diamond is chemically, physically and optically identical to a mined diamond and is graded on the same scale by the same laboratories.

Does the ring come with a certificate
Yes. An IGI certificate for the centre stone is included at no extra cost with every order.

What does graduated mean
The side stones reduce in size step by step as they move away from the centre. It draws the eye inward and makes the centre stone read larger than it would beside a row of identical stones.

Are the side stones included in the carat weight shown
No. The carat weight you select refers to the centre stone. The graduated side diamonds are supplied in sizes proportioned to it.

Are shared claw side stones secure
Yes. Each claw sits between two stones and holds both, and every stone is held by at least two claws. We recommend a check every 12 to 18 months, which we do free of charge.

Can I wear a wedding band beside it
Yes. The shank is straight, so a plain or diamond band sits flush on either side with no gap.

How long does it take to make
Made to order rings usually leave our workshop within 12 to 16 working days because the side stones are matched by size. We confirm the date by email once your size is set.
