An oval cut lab grown diamond held by four claws that each split into two tips before touching the stone, so eight points of metal grip the girdle instead of four. The split claws are the signature of this ring and read most clearly in yellow or rose gold, where each pair of tips shows as a distinct scallop against the stone. Frequently asked questions

What is a double tipped claw?
A claw that divides into two tips at the top, so each one touches the diamond in two places. Four double claws give eight contact points. It is an antique detail that both holds the stone more evenly and gives the setting a scalloped outline.

How is this different from your other oval hidden halo pave rings?
The hidden halo and the single row of pave are the same. What differs is the head. Those rings use plain single claws, while this one uses split double tips, which changes the look of the setting from every angle.

Are double claws more secure?
They distribute pressure over a wider area of the girdle, which is helpful on ovals where the pointed ends take the most stress. They also mean that if one tip is ever damaged the stone is still held.

What is a hidden halo?
A ring of small diamonds set around the underside of the centre stone below the girdle. It is invisible from above and only shows from the side.

Does an oval look bigger than a round of the same weight?
Generally yes. An oval spreads its weight across a longer surface, presenting more face up area than a round of identical carat.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond?
Yes. Same carbon structure, hardness and brilliance as a mined diamond. Only the origin differs.
