An oval cut lab grown diamond surrounded by two full rows of round brilliants rather than one. The inner row sits tight against the centre stone, and the outer row is set slightly larger and offset between the inner stones so the points radiate outward, which is what gives this design its sunburst outline. Every accent is claw set individually rather than bead set into a shared channel, so each one stands proud with metal visible between them, the way antique cluster rings were made. That is the difference between a double halo and a simple halo with a wider border. The head is lifted on a cathedral arch, and the band beneath it is left completely plain so nothing competes with the cluster. Frequently asked questions

What is a double halo?
Two complete rows of accent diamonds around the centre stone instead of one. It substantially increases the apparent size of the ring and gives the head a much larger presence on the finger.

How is this different from your single halo oval rings?
Those have one row of accents, either on a plain band or with pave shoulders. This one has two rows, each accent individually claw set rather than bead set, which produces a radiating sunburst outline rather than a smooth oval border.

How much larger does a double halo make the stone look?
Considerably. A single halo typically adds the appearance of roughly half a carat to a carat. A double halo can make a 2 carat oval read closer to 4 carats face up.

Is this a vintage design?
The construction is. Individually claw set cluster halos with offset outer rows are how Victorian and Edwardian cluster rings were built, before bead set pave became standard.

Do the individual claws need checking?
