An oval cut lab grown diamond held in four unusually slim curved claws on a plain tapered band. The claws are the point of restraint here. Most settings use claws thick enough to be a visible feature in their own right, whereas these are drawn as fine as the metal safely allows and curl tightly over the girdle, so from above they read as four thin lines rather than four blocks. Almost nothing covers the stone. Combined with a shank that narrows as it rises, the effect is an oval sitting on the least possible amount of metal, which is the whole ambition of a minimal solitaire. Available in 925 sterling silver, 10K yellow gold, 10K rose gold, 10K white gold, 14K yellow gold, 14K rose gold, 14K white gold, 18K yellow gold, 18K rose gold and 18K white gold. With claws this fine and no accent stones, there is very little metal on show, so the colour reads as a thin outline rather than a mass. Yellow and rose gold trace the shape warmly, white gold makes the setting all but disappear. For daily wear 14K is harder than 18K, which matters more than usual on claws drawn this slim.

Frequently asked questions

Are slim claws secure?
Yes, when correctly made. They grip the girdle exactly as a heavier claw does, with less metal above it. Because each claw is finer we recommend 14K rather than 18K for daily wear, and our lifetime prong check covers them.

Why choose slim claws?
Less metal crossing the crown means more of the diamond is visible face up and the outline stays uninterrupted. On an oval, where the shape itself is the design, that matters.

Does an oval look bigger than a round of the same weight?
Generally yes. An oval spreads its weight across a longer surface, presenting more face up area than a round of identical carat, and the elongated outline flatters the finger.

Is this easy to pair with a wedding band?
Yes, the easiest kind. There is no pave to line up and the shank is straight where a band meets it.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond?
Yes. Same carbon structure, hardness and brilliance as a mined diamond. Only the origin differs.
