Frequently asked questions

Why a hidden halo instead of a visible one?
A visible halo changes the outline of the ring and makes the centre stone read as part of a cluster. A hidden halo leaves the oval alone from above and adds its detail underneath, so you keep a clean solitaire silhouette with extra sparkle in profile.

Will a plain band make the ring look less expensive?
No, and many buyers prefer it. With no stones competing along the shank, the oval is the only thing your eye lands on, which is why plain band solitaires often read as larger than the same stone on a pave band.

Does the hidden halo make the ring sit higher?
Slightly, because the halo sits between the stone and the shank. It is a small lift, not a raised cathedral setting, and it still passes comfortably under most gloves.

What is the bow tie in an oval?
A faint dark band across the middle of some ovals. We select stones with excellent cut and symmetry specifically to keep it minimal.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond?
Yes. Same carbon structure, hardness and brilliance as a mined diamond. Only the origin differs.
