Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond

Yes. A lab grown diamond is real diamond. It has the same carbon crystal structure, the same hardness of 10 on the Mohs scale, the same refractive index and the same fire and brilliance as a mined diamond. The only difference is that it was grown in a controlled laboratory over a few weeks instead of underground over billions of years. No jeweller can tell the difference by eye, only specialist equipment reading growth patterns can separate the two.

Does this ring come with a certificate

Yes. Every ring ships with a free IGI certificate for the centre stone. IGI is the International Gemological Institute, one of the largest independent diamond grading laboratories in the world. The certificate confirms the carat weight, the E colour grade, the VVS2 clarity grade and the laboratory grown origin. There is no extra charge for the certificate.

How much bigger does a marquise petal halo make the centre stone look

More than a standard round halo. Because each marquise accent is elongated and points outward, the cluster covers a wider area of the finger for the same amount of accent weight. In practice this design reads about a carat larger than the centre stone alone, which is why a sunburst cluster is such an efficient way to get presence without paying for a much bigger centre diamond.

Does an oval cut show a bow tie

Every oval has some degree of bow tie, the darker band across the centre caused by the way light exits an elongated shape. Well cut ovals keep it faint. We select ovals with good length to width proportions, generally in the 1.35 to 1.50 range, so the bow tie stays subtle and the stone holds its brightness across the whole face.

Are marquise accent stones durable

Marquise accents have two points each, and points are the part of any stone that needs care. We set every petal under prongs that cover the tips rather than leaving them exposed at the edge of the cluster, so the vulnerable points are protected by metal. Set that way the ring is entirely practical for daily wear.

What does E colour VVS2 actually mean

E colour is the second highest grade on the diamond colour scale and sits inside the colourless range, so the diamond looks bright white with no warm or yellow tint. VVS2 means very very slightly included, the second highest clarity tier. Any inclusions are so small that a trained grader needs 10x magnification to find them and they are completely invisible to the naked eye.

Every piece is made to order, so nothing is pulled off a shelf. Production takes about 10 to 12 working days and shipping is 3 to 5 working days after that with tracked international courier. We accept returns and exchanges within 30 days of delivery on unworn pieces in original condition, and resizing is available after delivery.
