Frequently asked questions

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond? Yes. A lab grown diamond has the same carbon crystal structure, hardness and brilliance as a mined diamond. The only difference is that it is grown in a laboratory rather than extracted from the earth. It is graded by the same laboratories using the same criteria.

What color and clarity are the diamonds in this ring? The oval center stone and every accent are E color and VVS2 clarity, so the marquises and rounds along the band hold the same colourless tone as the centre.

Why space the accents instead of using solid pave? Leaving metal between the stones gives the band a pattern with rhythm and keeps it lighter on the finger. Solid pave reads as one continuous line of light, which is brighter but busier. This design is the quieter of the two.

Why alternate marquise with round? A marquise laid lengthwise covers more of the band than a round of similar weight, and the small rounds between them fill the points where the marquises meet, so the sequence flows rather than stopping and starting.

Is this band harder to resize than a plain one? The stones sit along the shoulders rather than the full circle, so resizing is done at the plain section at the back. We can usually move two sizes either way, and since every ring is made to order it is simpler to tell us your size up front.

Does this ring come with certification? Yes. Every center stone ships with an IGI certificate at no additional charge. IGI is one of the largest independent gemological laboratories grading lab grown diamonds.
