Metal options

A bezel puts a visible band of metal directly around the diamond, so the contrast between rim and stone is the strongest decision here. Yellow gold gives a warm frame that reads clearly as gold on diamond, white gold makes the rim almost disappear so the oval looks as wide as possible. For daily wear 14K is harder than 18K and keeps a bezel edge crisp for longer.

What does east west mean?
The stone is set with its long axis running across the finger rather than along it. On an elongated shape like an oval it is an immediately noticeable change and one of the simplest ways to make a classic cut look contemporary.

Does an east west setting suit every hand?
It emphasises width rather than length, so it reads boldest on slimmer fingers and gives a broad, architectural look on any hand. If you specifically want a ring that lengthens the finger, a north to south setting does that better.

What is a bezel setting?
A continuous rim of metal that wraps around the entire girdle of the stone and holds it in place. It is the most secure setting there is, since there are no individual claws that can bend, wear thin or snag.

Will a wedding band sit flush against it?
Yes. The shank is slim, straight and free of settings, and the bezel sits low, so a straight band meets it cleanly on either side.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond?
Yes. Same carbon structure, hardness and brilliance as a mined diamond. Only the origin differs.
