Because the bezel is recessed into a broad flat shank rather than raised above a slim one, the whole ring sits almost level with the finger. Yellow gold makes it read as a solid gold object with a diamond inset, white gold makes the bezel disappear into the stone. What is a bezel setting?
A continuous rim of metal that wraps around the entire girdle of the stone and holds it in place. It is the most secure setting there is, since there are no individual claws that can bend, wear thin or snag.

What is a cigar band?
A wide flat band of even width all the way around, named for its resemblance to a cigar band. It gives a substantial modern look and spreads pressure comfortably across the finger.

Does a bezel make the diamond look smaller?
The rim covers the very edge of the stone, so a fraction of the outline is hidden. In exchange the metal frame reads as part of the stone from a distance, which often makes the head look larger overall, particularly in a white metal.

Is a wide band harder to size?
It is a longer job than a thin shank but entirely routine, and there are no settings anywhere on the band to disturb. We size every ring to order, so this only matters years later.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond?
