A marquise cut lab grown diamond set lengthwise in six claws, on a shank decorated with milgrain beading and small round diamonds set in their own bezels rather than claws. The accents are the detail that dates this design. Bezel setting a small stone means surrounding it with a low collar of metal, and when each collar is then edged in milgrain the accent reads as a tiny disc of light rather than a bare stone. Set at intervals along the shoulders and again on the bridge below the head, they give the ring the punctuated rhythm of Edwardian work rather than the continuous glitter of pave. The gallery under the marquise carries more milgrain and openwork, visible only from the side. E colour, VVS2 clarity, free IGI certificate. Band details

Small round diamonds are bezel set at intervals along the shoulders, each collar finished with milgrain beading. More milgrain runs along the edges of the shank and around the gallery beneath the centre stone. The lower half of the band is left plain.

Metal options

Available in 925 sterling silver, 10K yellow gold, 10K rose gold, 10K white gold, 14K yellow gold, 14K rose gold, 14K white gold, 18K yellow gold, 18K rose gold and 18K white gold. Milgrain and bezel work depend on shadow to read properly, so yellow and rose gold show this design at its best, with each beaded collar standing out clearly against the warm metal. White gold and sterling silver give a cooler, more Art Deco effect.

Ring size

Every ring is made to your finger size, so choose your size at checkout. Because the milgrain and bezels run along the shank, please order your correct size where possible. Resizing is still possible but the detail has to be reworked across the join. Ask us for a free size guide if you are unsure.

We can replace the bezel accents with claw set stones or continuous pave, leave the band plain with milgrain only, set the marquise east west across the finger, or change the centre stone to moissanite. Frequently asked questions

What is a bezel set accent?
A small stone surrounded by a low collar of metal rather than held by claws. It sits flush, cannot snag, and reads as a neat disc of light. Edging each collar in milgrain, as here, is a distinctly antique treatment.

What is milgrain?
A row of very small metal beads worked along an edge with a knurling tool. It is a hallmark of Edwardian and Art Deco jewellery and it softens the outline of a ring, catching light along the rim in a way a plain polished edge does not.

How does this differ from a pave shoulder ring?
Pave packs small stones edge to edge for continuous sparkle. Here the accents are spaced and individually bezelled, so the shoulders read as a series of distinct points with decorated metal between them. It is quieter and more deliberate.

Why six claws on a marquise?
Two claws are given to the pointed tips, which are the thinnest and most exposed part of the stone. The other four hold the wide middle, which stops a long stone pivoting in its setting.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond?
Yes. Same carbon structure, hardness and brilliance as a mined diamond. Only the origin differs.

Do I get a certificate?
Yes. A free IGI certificate for the centre stone comes with every order, listing colour, clarity, cut grade and carat weight.
