Band details

The shank is modelled as a length of vine. It narrows and swells along its run, carries small carved thorns on the shoulders, and splits open beneath the head so light passes through under the stones. The inside surface is left smooth and rounded so none of the surface texture is felt against the finger.

Why is the marquise set east to west?
Set across the finger the marquise spans the full width of the hand and reads as a leaf laid on a branch, which is the point of the design. Set north to south it would lengthen the finger instead, and we can build it that way on request.

Are the points of a marquise fragile?
The points are the thinnest part of any pointed stone, which is why both ends here sit inside V shaped claw tips. The tip covers the point completely and takes any knock before the diamond does.

Will the thorns catch on clothing?
No. The thorns are carved low and rounded at the tip, and they sit on the shoulders rather than standing out from the band.

Can I wear a wedding band with this ring?
