A marquise cut lab grown diamond sits in six claws that are not simple wires but shaped forms, curving up from the basket and flaring where they meet the stone so that from the side the head reads as a lotus opening. Two of those claws wrap the points to protect them. Below the basket the shank drops away as a fine plain wire with nothing set into it. All of the craft in this ring is in the metalwork of the head, and none of it is on the band, which is why the marquise looks as long and clean as it does on the finger.

Band details

The shank is a fine polished round wire, plain from end to end, that rises cleanly into the sculpted basket. The gallery beneath the stone is left open so light reaches the pavilion from below. Because the band carries no stones it is one of the easiest of our settings to resize and among the most comfortable for everyday wear.

Metal options

Choose 925 sterling silver with rhodium plating, or solid 10K, 14K or 18K gold in yellow, rose or white. Yellow gold shows the sculpted claw work best and gives the warm look in the photographs. White gold, rhodium finished, turns the same shaping cooler and more architectural. Rose gold softens the points. Every metal is hallmarked and every carat weight is available in every metal.

Is the centre stone a real diamond
Yes. A lab grown diamond is chemically, physically and optically identical to a mined diamond and is graded on the same scale by the same laboratories.

Does the ring come with a certificate
Yes. An IGI certificate for the centre stone is included at no extra cost with every order.

Does a marquise make the finger look longer
Yes. Of all the diamond shapes, the marquise has the greatest length for its carat weight, so it elongates the finger more than any other cut.

Are marquise points fragile
The two tips are the thinnest part of the stone, so each one sits under a claw that wraps over the point rather than beside it. Worn normally the stone is very durable.

Why six claws rather than four
A marquise is long and narrow, so it needs support along its sides as well as at the tips. Six claws spread the pressure and hold a large stone more securely without covering much of its surface.

Can I wear a wedding band beside it
Yes. The shank is straight and plain, so a plain or pave band sits flush on either side with no gap.
