A marquise cut lab grown diamond held in six claws on a plain slim band. The marquise is the longest of all the diamond shapes relative to its weight, a pointed ellipse that covers more finger than any other cut at the same carat. Six claws rather than four is what makes that work structurally. A V claw wraps each of the two points, which are the thinnest and most vulnerable part of the stone, and two claws each side hold the widest section, so the setting matches where the marquise actually needs support. Nothing else is added. The band is bare, the gallery is open, and the outline of the stone does all the work. E colour, VVS2 clarity, free IGI certificate. With no accent stones anywhere, the metal colour is the only other decision in the design. White gold lets the marquise read at its longest by removing any contrast at the claws, yellow and rose gold mark the six grip points clearly. For daily wear 14K is harder than 18K and better protects the two points of the stone.

Frequently asked questions

Why does a marquise look so much bigger than its carat weight?
Because it is the most elongated of the brilliant cuts. It spreads its weight across a long narrow surface, so a marquise presents more face up area than any other shape of the same weight, and the length visually slims the finger.

Are the points fragile?
The two tips are the thinnest part of any marquise, which is why each sits under a V shaped claw that wraps both edges. Protected that way it is entirely suitable for everyday wear.

Why six claws instead of four?
Two claws protect the points and four hold the widest part of the stone, which is where the pressure needs to be. On a shape this long, four claws alone would leave too much unsupported span.

What is the bow tie in a marquise?
A faint dark band across the centre, caused by pavilion facets shadowing each other. Good proportioning minimises it, which is why we only set marquise stones with excellent cut and symmetry grades.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond?
Yes. Same carbon structure, hardness and brilliance as a mined diamond. Only the origin differs.

Do I get a certificate?
Yes. A free IGI certificate for the centre stone comes with every order, listing colour, clarity, cut grade and carat weight.

How long does it take to make?
