Does the price cover both rings

Yes. The price shown is for the complete set, the engagement ring and the matching marquise accent wedding band together. Both are made in the metal and size you select.

Why use marquise accents instead of pave on the band

Because they echo the centre stone. Round pave is the default on almost every bridal set, and it works, but it makes no visual reference to the shape above it. Marquise accents laid end to end repeat the navette outline along the finger, which ties the two rings together and gives the band a distinct rhythm rather than a continuous glitter.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond

Yes. A lab grown diamond is real diamond. It has the same carbon crystal structure, the same hardness of 10 on the Mohs scale, the same refractive index and the same fire and brilliance as a mined diamond. The only difference is that it was grown in a controlled laboratory over a few weeks instead of underground over billions of years. No jeweller can tell the difference by eye, only specialist equipment reading growth patterns can separate the two.

Are the pointed tips of a marquise diamond fragile

The tips are the most vulnerable part of a marquise, which is why they are always protected by prongs on a well made ring. On this set the centre stone's tips sit inside V prongs, and the accents on the band are individually held. Worn normally the stones are durable, but remove the rings for gym work, gardening and heavy lifting.

Can the wedding band be worn on its own

Yes. It is designed to nest against the engagement ring but reads perfectly well as a standalone band, which is why some customers wear it alone day to day and stack the pair for occasions.

Does this set come with a certificate

Yes. Every set ships with a free IGI certificate for the centre stone. IGI is the International Gemological Institute, one of the largest independent diamond grading laboratories in the world. The certificate confirms the carat weight, the E colour grade, the VVS2 clarity grade and the laboratory grown origin. There is no extra charge for the certificate.

What does E colour VVS2 actually mean

E colour is the second highest grade on the diamond colour scale and sits inside the colourless range, so the diamond looks bright white with no warm or yellow tint. VVS2 means very very slightly included, the second highest clarity tier. Any inclusions are so small that a trained grader needs 10x magnification to find them and they are completely invisible to the naked eye.

Why buy a lab grown diamond

A lab grown diamond gives you a materially identical stone for a fraction of the price of a mined equivalent, and on a bridal set that saving applies twice over, across the centre stone and every accent in the band. Marquise accents in particular would be costly to source as mined stones in matched sizes. Because the origin of every stone is documented from the moment it is grown, a lab grown diamond is conflict free by definition. Growing a diamond also avoids the open pit excavation, land disruption and water use that mining a comparable stone requires.
