An emerald cut lab grown diamond in four claws, with a small tapered cluster on each shoulder built from two round brilliants and a pear shaped diamond. The stones step down in size as they move away from the centre and the pear sits at the outer end with its point facing away, which draws the shoulder to a taper rather than ending it abruptly. Beyond the cluster the band is plain polished metal all the way round. That concentration of accents right beside the centre stone is what separates this from a band where small stones are spread evenly along the whole shank. Here the extra sparkle is grouped where it frames the emerald cut and nowhere else. E colour, VVS2 clarity throughout, free IGI certificate for the centre stone. Frequently asked questions

What is a cluster shoulder?
A small group of accent diamonds set tight against the centre stone on each side, rather than a continuous row running the length of the band. It frames the main stone and leaves the rest of the shank plain.

How is this different from your station set accent band?
On a station set band the accents are spaced individually along the whole shank. Here they are grouped only at the shoulders, in a tapering cluster of two rounds and a pear, with plain metal everywhere else.

Why does an emerald cut look different from other shapes?
It is step cut, with long parallel facets instead of the many small triangular facets of a brilliant. That gives broad flashes and an open table rather than fine sparkle, which is why the brilliant cut accents beside it read as a deliberate contrast.

Does this ring have a hidden halo?
No. The setting is a plain four claw head, so the emerald cut sits on its own.

Are pear shaped accents fragile?
The point is the vulnerable part, which is why it is set facing outward along the shoulder and protected by its setting rather than left exposed at the edge of the band.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond?
Yes. Same carbon structure, hardness and brilliance as a mined diamond. Only the origin differs.
