An emerald cut lab grown diamond held in four slim claws, on a band that alternates marquise and round accent diamonds spaced individually along a fine shank. Each accent sits in its own setting with polished gold left visible between them, which is what a station set band means. It is the opposite of pave: instead of a continuous line of small stones packed edge to edge, you get separated points of light with metal breathing between them, and the alternating marquise and round shapes give the band a rhythm rather than a uniform row. The head is a plain basket with no hidden halo, so nothing competes with the long open table of the emerald cut. E colour, VVS2 clarity throughout, free IGI certificate for the centre stone. Metal options

A station set band shows more metal than a pave band, so the choice of colour matters more here. Yellow and rose gold make the gaps between the accents read as warm bars of colour against the stones. White gold makes the whole band read as one continuous glitter, closer to the look of a pave shank.

Ring size

Every ring is made to your finger size, so choose your size at checkout. Because the accents are placed individually rather than in a continuous row, this band resizes more easily than a fully pave set shank, though we would still rather make it correctly the first time. Frequently asked questions

What is a station set band?
A band where each accent diamond is set on its own with plain metal between it and the next one, instead of a continuous packed row. It gives separated points of light and shows more of the metal.

How is this different from a pave band?
Pave sets small stones edge to edge so the shank reads as one unbroken line of diamond. Station setting spaces them out. This ring also alternates two shapes, marquise and round, which a pave band does not do.

Why does an emerald cut look different from other shapes?
It is step cut, with long parallel facets instead of the many small triangular facets of a brilliant. That produces broad flashes of light and a clear open table rather than sparkle, which is why clarity grade matters more on an emerald cut. VVS2 is well clear of the point where anything is visible.

Does this ring have a hidden halo?
No. The basket is plain and open, so the emerald cut sits on its own with nothing under the girdle.

Will the accent stones catch on clothing?
They are set flush into their settings and sit low against the shank, so they do not snag in normal wear. Our lifetime prong and setting check covers them at no charge.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond?
Yes. Same carbon structure, hardness and brilliance as a mined diamond. Only the origin differs.
