Emerald Cut Moissanite Five Stone Marquise and Round Engagement Ring

Five stones and nothing else. An emerald cut moissanite in four claws, then one marquise laid on its side against each long edge of the centre stone, and one small round beyond it. The marquise points inwards towards the centre, which draws the eye along the length of the emerald cut instead of across it. After the fifth stone the band becomes a plain round wire and stays that way to the back of the finger.

This is the sparest of our side stone designs. There is no pave filling the gaps, no halo, no gallery decoration and no twist. If you like the idea of a solitaire but want a little more width across the top of the hand, this adds it with four small stones rather than a hundred.

How it compares to our other side stone emerald cut rings

We list every design separately. This is a five stone ring, not a three stone: our three stone designs use one large tapered baguette or trillion on each side and nothing beyond it. Our marquise cluster ring packs three accents per side into a tight bunch. Our bezel accent ring runs alternating shapes right down the shoulders in closed rims. This one keeps the count to four small accents, all claw set, all clearly separate from one another, on a band that is otherwise completely plain.

Metals and sizes

Choose from 925 sterling silver, or 10K, 14K and 18K gold in yellow, rose and white. All gold is solid, not plated and not filled. White gold is rhodium finished. Yellow gold is shown here, and because there is so much bare metal on this ring the colour of the gold does more work than usual in setting the tone. Centre stone sizes run from 2 carat to 5 carat.

Made to order in our own workshop

Mapple Gems is a family run workshop in Surat, India. Every ring is made by our own team after you order. With only five stones there is nowhere to hide a poorly seated setting, so the marquise points are cut into the claws by hand and checked under magnification. If you would like the side stones larger, or the marquise swapped for a second round, tell us in the order notes before we begin.

Care

Moissanite is 9.25 on the Mohs scale and takes daily wear well. Clean with warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft brush, then rinse and dry with a soft cloth. This is one of the easiest rings in our range to keep clean because there are no tight gaps between stones. Marquise points sit under their own claws but are still the most delicate part of the ring, so have them checked once a year.

Resizing

The band is plain from the accents backwards, so this ring resizes by one to two sizes with no difficulty. Contact us before ordering if you are unsure of the finger size and we will help you measure.

Questions people ask

Is the centre stone a diamond? No. Every stone in this ring is moissanite, a gemstone in its own right, and we never describe it as a diamond.

Why is the marquise set sideways? Because it follows the long edge of the emerald cut. Set upright it would fight the outline; laid flat it extends it, and the ring looks wider across the finger.

Is this a three stone ring? No, it is a five stone. We are specific about this because three stone rings carry a particular meaning for many people and we would rather you knew exactly what you are buying.

Can I wear a wedding band with it? Yes, easily. The plain round shank meets a straight band cleanly, and the accents sit close enough to the head that nothing gets in the way.

Does the price change with carat size? Yes. The 2 carat is the base price and each larger size adds a small amount. The exact price appears when you select a combination.
