An emerald cut lab grown diamond held in four claws, flanked on each side by three round diamonds grouped in a triangle, on a band that is otherwise plain. The pairing is deliberately contrapuntal. An emerald cut is a step cut, all straight lines and long calm flashes, and round brilliants are the liveliest shape there is, so clustering a few of them tight against each flat side of the centre stone sets restraint directly beside sparkle. Grouping them as a trefoil rather than running them down the shank keeps that contrast concentrated at the head and leaves the lower half of the band as bare polished gold. Metal options

Available in 925 sterling silver, 10K yellow gold, 10K rose gold, 10K white gold, 14K yellow gold, 14K rose gold, 14K white gold, 18K yellow gold, 18K rose gold and 18K white gold. Because the accents stop at the shoulders, most of the band is plain metal and the colour carries the ring. Yellow and rose gold give a warm frame around a very geometric stone, white gold merges the trefoils with the emerald cut so the head reads as one wider spread of diamond. For daily wear 14K is harder than 18K and better protects the corners of an emerald cut.

What is a trefoil cluster?
Three stones grouped in a triangle rather than set in a line. Here one trefoil sits against each side of the centre stone, concentrating the accent light at the head instead of running it down the band.

Why put brilliant cut accents beside a step cut centre?
For contrast. An emerald cut returns light in broad slow flashes and rounds return fine fast sparkle, so each makes the other more noticeable. Matching step cut accents would blend in instead.

Why does an emerald cut show clarity so clearly?
Its long open step facets act like windows into the stone rather than scattering light. That is why we set only VVS2 in this shape, where inclusions would be visible in a lower grade.

Will a wedding band sit flush?
Yes, better than most accent rings, because the lower half of the shank is completely plain. A flat band rests cleanly against it.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond?
Yes. Same carbon structure, hardness and brilliance as a mined diamond. Only the origin differs.
