An emerald cut lab grown diamond flanked by two tapered baguettes, which is the pairing the three stone ring was built on. A tapered baguette is itself a step cut, so its long flat facets speak the same visual language as the emerald centre rather than competing with it the way round brilliants would. Because the baguettes narrow as they run away from the centre stone, they push the eye inward and make the emerald look wider and more important than it would alone. It is a genuinely Art Deco construction and the reason this combination has stayed in production for a century. E colour, VVS2 clarity throughout, free IGI certificate for the centre diamond. Three stone rings read best when nothing interrupts the line of the three diamonds, so a white metal gives the cleanest result. Yellow and rose gold add a period warmth that suits the Art Deco character of the design. For everyday wear 14K is harder than 18K and better at holding baguettes level over time.

Frequently asked questions

Why tapered baguettes rather than round side stones?
Because they match. A baguette is a step cut like the emerald centre, so the whole ring shows the same broad flashes of light. Round brilliants beside an emerald cut sparkle in a different rhythm, which some people like and others find distracting.

Do the three stones mean anything?
Traditionally past, present and future, which is why three stone rings are given as anniversary and milestone gifts as often as engagement rings.

Are baguettes more fragile than round stones?
They have straight edges and corners rather than a curve, so they need to be set carefully and level. Ours are prong set with the corners covered. Once set properly they are no more vulnerable than any other side stone.

How does this differ from your other emerald three stone ring?

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond?
Yes. Same carbon structure, hardness and brilliance as a mined diamond. Only the origin differs.
