An emerald cut lab grown diamond claw set between two tapered baguettes on a plain polished band. This is the original Art Deco three stone formula and it works because every stone in it is step cut. The emerald centre and the baguettes beside it are both cut with long parallel facets rather than the tiny triangular facets of a brilliant, so they throw broad flashes of light instead of scattered sparkle, and the three read as one deliberate geometric object. The baguettes narrow as they travel outward, which draws the eye back into the centre and lets the band stay slim. Nothing else on the ring competes with them. E colour, VVS2 clarity throughout, free IGI certificate for the centre stone. Made to order in Surat in ten metals and four carat weights.

Available in 925 sterling silver, 10K yellow gold, 10K rose gold, 10K white gold, 14K yellow gold, 14K rose gold, 14K white gold, 18K yellow gold, 18K rose gold and 18K white gold. Step cut stones show their body colour more openly than brilliants, so a white metal keeps the emerald reading icy while yellow and rose gold lend it a faint warmth. For daily wear 14K is harder than 18K and better protects the corners of a step cut stone.

Frequently asked questions

What is a tapered baguette?
A long rectangular step cut stone that narrows along its length. Because it is wider at the end nearest the centre stone it fits the natural taper of the setting and guides the eye inward, which is why it has been the standard side stone for emerald cuts since the nineteen twenties.

Why does an emerald cut sparkle less than a round?
It is cut with long parallel steps rather than many small facets, so it produces wide mirror like flashes instead of fine glitter. That open surface is also why clarity matters more in an emerald cut, and why we set only VVS2 stones.

Does the carat weight include the baguettes?
No. The carat option you choose applies to the emerald centre only. The two baguettes are additional and scale with it.

Is an emerald cut good for everyday wear?
Yes, with one caveat. Its cropped corners are the most exposed part, which is why we protect each one under a claw. The flat top also sits lower than a brilliant, so it catches on clothing less.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond?
Yes. Same carbon structure, hardness and brilliance as a mined diamond. Only the origin differs.

Do I get a certificate?
Yes. A free IGI certificate for the centre stone comes with every order, listing colour, clarity, cut grade and carat weight.

How long does it take to make?
Production usually takes ten to fourteen working days, plus shipping time to your address.
