Band details

Why space the accent diamonds instead of using pave?
Spacing creates individual points of light rather than a continuous sparkle, so the centre stone stays dominant. It also gives the ring a lighter, more modern look and is easier to keep clean.

Will the spaced accents catch on clothing?
No. Each accent is set low into the top surface of the shank with the claws filed flush, so nothing stands proud of the band.

Why is an emerald cut so clear looking?
It is a step cut, which means long parallel facets arranged like stairs rather than the many small triangular facets of a brilliant. Instead of sparkle you get broad flashes and a clear open view straight into the stone.

Does clarity matter more with an emerald cut?
Yes. Because you can see into the stone, inclusions have nowhere to hide. That is why the center stone here is VVS2, a grade at which inclusions are not visible without magnification.
