An emerald cut lab grown diamond held in four claws and set low into a wide polished band that runs at full width all the way around the finger.

Most solitaires taper. This one does not. The band keeps its full width from one side of the head to the other and around the back, so the ring reads as a solid piece of metal with a diamond let into it rather than as a stone raised on a shank. It is a modern proportion and it does something specific for a step cut. Against a broad flat expanse of polished gold, the sharp rectangle of an emerald cut looks even more precise, and the long parallel lines of the step facets are the only pattern anywhere on the ring.

The head is set as low as the claws allow, sitting almost into the surface of the band rather than above it. That keeps a wide ring comfortable and stops the profile from becoming top heavy at four or five carats. The outer surface is gently domed and fully polished, and the interior is comfort rounded so a wide band does not grip at its edges.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond
Yes. It has the same carbon crystal structure, the same hardness of 10 on the Mohs scale and the same optical behaviour as a mined diamond, and it is graded on the same scales by the same laboratories.

Does the ring come with a certificate
Yes. An IGI certificate for the center stone is included at no extra charge.

Should I size up for a wide band
Usually yes. A wide band covers more of the finger and feels tighter than a narrow one at the same measured size. We build in a comfort fit interior, but if you are between sizes we recommend the larger.

Does a wide band make the stone look smaller
It can, which is why the head here is set low and the band is kept flat and plain. There is no shoulder detail to compete with the outline of the stone.

Will it scratch
A large polished surface shows fine scratches over time, as any polished ring does. We repolish it free of charge for life.

Do emerald cuts show inclusions more than other shapes
Yes. The open step facets hide far less than a brilliant does, which is why we use VVS2 clarity for the centre stone.

Will a wedding band sit flush
Yes, though many people wear this ring on its own because the band is already substantial.

Can this ring be resized
Yes, though a wide band takes more work to size than a narrow one. Free within the first year.

How is this different from your other plain emerald cut rings
The others use slim, knife edge or domed comfort fit shanks of normal width. This is the only one built on a full width band with no taper.
