This is a spaced setting rather than pave. Instead of packing small stones edge to edge, the setter places each accent individually and leaves bright metal visible between them. The effect is quite different. Pave reads as a continuous line of light, while a spaced band reads as a rhythm, and because gold shows between the stones the band stays warm rather than turning silver white.

Alternating two shapes gives that rhythm its interest. The marquise stones lie lengthways along the shank and point toward the center diamond, and the round brilliants sit between them like punctuation. It is an old jeweller's trick for making a slim band look considered rather than plain, and it uses far fewer stones than pave to do it.

Under the center stone the basket is left open and simple, with the claws meeting in a clean V at the front and back. There is no hidden halo here, which keeps the profile low and lets the emerald cut sit close to the finger.

Band details

The shank is slim and rounded, of even width from the shoulders to the base, with a polished finish. Because the accents stop short of the palm side, the ring sits comfortably against a neighbouring band and is easy to size.

Choose 925 sterling silver, or 10K, 14K or 18K gold in yellow, rose or white. Every metal is fully hallmarked. White gold is finished with rhodium for a bright cool white. On a spaced band the metal between the stones is part of the design, so the color you pick shows more here than it would on a fully pave set ring.

Is the center stone a real diamond
Yes. A lab grown diamond is real diamond. It has the same carbon crystal structure, the same hardness of 10 on the Mohs scale and the same optical behaviour as a mined diamond. The only difference is where it was grown.

Does the ring come with a certificate
Yes. An IGI certificate for the center stone is included at no extra charge.

Why choose spaced accents instead of pave
Three reasons. The band stays slim, the metal color stays visible, and there are fewer stones to check over a lifetime of wear. It is a quieter look than pave and it suits people who want the center stone to do the talking.

Is there a hidden halo under the stone
No. The basket is open and plain so the ring sits low on the finger. If you want a hidden halo we can add one as a custom order.

Can this ring be resized later
Yes, comfortably. The underside of the shank has no stones in it, so a jeweller can size it in either direction. Your first resizing with us is free.

How is this different from your other marquise accent rings

Each marquise sits in a prong at both tips, which is the correct way to hold that shape. Set this way they wear well.

Which metal should I choose
Yellow and rose gold make the spacing between the stones part of the design. White gold and sterling silver make the accents look almost continuous.
