An emerald cut lab grown diamond framed by a milgrain edged collar and held by four corner claws, on a band that splits into two arms as it reaches the shoulders.

The collar is the detail people notice first. A narrow wall of metal follows the eight sides of the emerald cut all the way around, and its top edge is finished with milgrain, a fine row of raised beads worked with a knurling wheel. That beaded line traces the outline of the stone and turns the setting into a frame rather than a mount. Four slim claws hold the corners, so the ring keeps the security of claws and the drawn outline of a bezel at the same time.

The band divides as it approaches the head. Each side splits into two arms with an open space between them, and those arms carry the collar from either side before rejoining behind. A split shank does two useful things on a large stone. It spreads the load across four points of contact instead of two, and the open windows it leaves make a substantial head look lighter than it is. No stones are set anywhere on the shank.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond
Yes. It has the same carbon crystal structure, the same hardness of 10 on the Mohs scale and the same optical behaviour as a mined diamond, and it is graded on the same scales by the same laboratories.

Does the ring come with a certificate
Yes. An IGI certificate for the center stone is included at no extra charge.

Is this a bezel setting
Not quite. It is a collar, a wall of metal that follows the outline of the stone without being burnished over its edge, with four claws holding the corners. It gives the drawn outline of a bezel and the security of claws.

What is milgrain
A border of tiny raised beads worked into the metal with a knurling wheel. Here it runs along the top edge of the collar and traces the shape of the stone.

What does a split shank do
It spreads the load of the head across four points of contact instead of two and leaves open windows that make a substantial setting look lighter.

Do emerald cuts show inclusions more than other shapes
Yes. The open step facets hide far less than a brilliant does, which is why we use VVS2 clarity for the centre stone.

Will a wedding band sit flush
A straight band meets the shank cleanly at the back but leaves a small gap where the split opens. We can shape a band to nest into it.

Can this ring be resized
Yes, using the solid section at the back of the shank.

How is this different from your other bezel style emerald cut rings
The full bezel designs burnish metal over the girdle and use no claws at all. This one uses a collar with milgrain and four corner claws, and adds a split shank.
