An emerald cut lab grown diamond framed by twelve pointed petals, each one a small milgrain edged bezel holding a single round brilliant diamond, on a split shank that opens as it reaches the head.

This is a halo built the old way. Instead of a continuous line of pave, every accent diamond gets its own setting, cut to a petal shape and finished with a fine beaded milgrain edge. Because each petal is a separate piece of metal with its own outline, the halo has a scalloped silhouette rather than a smooth ring, and it reads as a flower opening around the center stone.

Milgrain is what makes the difference between this looking modern and looking antique. Those tiny beads along each petal edge catch light in a soft broken way that polished metal cannot, and they are what gives an early twentieth century piece its texture. Cut and applied by hand, they take far longer than a plain edge.

Putting a rectangular step cut inside a floral frame is a deliberate contrast. The emerald cut brings straight lines and long calm flashes, the petals bring curves and small bright points, and the two together keep the eye moving across the head instead of settling on one thing.

Band details

The shank divides into two slim polished strands as it approaches the head, so the flower appears to sit on an open stem, then rejoins into a single rounded band at the base of the finger. There are no stones on the band itself.

Choose 925 sterling silver, or 10K, 14K or 18K gold in yellow, rose or white. Every metal is fully hallmarked. White gold is finished with rhodium for a bright cool white. Yellow and rose gold suit this design best because the milgrain and the petal outlines show clearly against a warm metal, which is how antique pieces were made.

Is the center stone a real diamond
Yes. A lab grown diamond is real diamond. It has the same carbon crystal structure, the same hardness of 10 on the Mohs scale and the same optical behaviour as a mined diamond. The only difference is where it was grown.

Does the ring come with a certificate
Yes. An IGI certificate for the center stone is included at no extra charge.

What is milgrain
A row of tiny metal beads worked along an edge with a knurling wheel. It softens the outline and scatters light, and it is one of the signatures of Edwardian and art deco jewellery.

How many diamonds are in the halo
Twelve petals surround the center stone, each holding one round brilliant. The exact stone sizes change with the center carat you choose.

Can this ring be resized later
Yes. The base of the shank is plain, so a jeweller can size it in either direction. Your first resizing with us is free.

How is this different from your other halo rings
Our bezel halo ring uses a smooth octagonal frame of pave around a bezel. Our hidden halo designs hide the accents under the stone. This design is the only one where each halo diamond has its own petal shaped bezel with milgrain, giving a scalloped flower outline.

Does a wedding band sit flush against it
The petals extend past the shank on both sides, so a straight band will meet the ring at the outer edge. A contoured band that curves around the flower gives the cleanest fit and we can make one to match.

Is milgrain hard to keep clean
No. Warm water, mild soap and a soft brush lift dust out of the beading easily. Avoid polishing compounds, which can flatten milgrain over time.

Which metal should I choose
Yellow or rose gold for a true antique look. White gold or sterling silver if you want the petals to blend with the diamonds and read as one bright flower.
