Everything on this ring is a straight line. The band has a flat outer face and sharp square edges rather than a rounded or domed profile, so it reads as a strip of metal rather than as a wire, and it holds that same width from one side of the head to the other and around the back. The emerald cut above it is a rectangle of parallel steps with cropped corners. Put those two together and the ring becomes an exercise in flat planes and right angles, which is exactly why a step cut belongs here and a round brilliant would not.

The claws are drawn slim and the head is set low so the stone sits almost into the line of the band rather than above it. There is no gallery ornament, no milgrain, no accent stones and no taper. What you get instead is a very clean silhouette from the side, a broad flat surface that carries the colour of the metal, and a stone that reads as let into the ring rather than perched on it.

Yes. It has the same carbon crystal structure, the same hardness of 10 on the Mohs scale and the same optical behaviour as a mined diamond, and it is graded on the same scales by the same laboratories.

What is the difference between a flat band and a comfort fit band
A flat band has straight square edges inside and out. A comfort fit band is domed on the inside so it rests on a cushion of air. We ease the inner edges of this flat band slightly, but it still sits more firmly than a comfort fit.

Should I size up
Usually yes, both because the band is wide and because square edges grip more than rounded ones.

Why does a flat band suit an emerald cut
Both are built from straight lines and flat planes. A rounded shank softens the outline of a step cut, where a flat squared band repeats it.

Do emerald cuts show inclusions more than other shapes
Yes. The open step facets hide far less than a brilliant does, which is why we use VVS2 clarity for the centre stone.

Will a wedding band sit flush
