Emerald Cut Lab Grown Diamond Ring with Celtic Trinity Knot Twisted Band

An emerald cut lab grown diamond held in four slim claws above a twisted open band, with a Celtic trinity knot worked into the metal on each side of the stone. There are no accent diamonds on this ring.

The trinity knot, or triquetra, is a single unbroken line that loops three times. On a ring it carries an obvious meaning, which is why it has stayed in use for so long, but it also does something practical. Because the knot is open work, light passes straight through the gallery from both sides, so the shoulders never read as a solid lump of metal even though the band is substantial.

Below the knots the shank divides into two strands that twist around one another and rejoin at the base of the finger. The strands are left fully polished and are rounded in section, which keeps the ring comfortable and gives the twist a clean line of reflected light along its length.

An emerald cut suits this treatment because it is a quiet stone. Step cut facets throw long broad flashes rather than fast sparkle, and against plain polished metal that contrast is easy to read. Nothing here competes with the diamond, and the whole design still looks like one piece rather than a stone dropped onto a band.

Center stone details

  • Stone type: lab grown diamond, chemically and optically identical to a mined diamond
  • Shape: emerald cut, step cut faceting
  • Carat options: 2 carat, 3 carat, 4 carat and 5 carat
  • Color grade: E
  • Clarity grade: VVS2
  • Cut and polish: excellent
  • Setting: four claw setting with the corners of the stone covered
  • Certification: IGI certificate for the center stone, included at no extra cost

Band and finish details

  • Celtic trinity knot worked in solid metal on both shoulders
  • Open gallery so light passes under and through the knot work
  • Twisted two strand shank, fully polished, rounded in section
  • No accent diamonds anywhere on the ring
  • Comfortable rounded inner edge

Band details

The band is wide and sculptural at the shoulders and narrows to a slim twisted shank at the base, so the ring feels light on the finger despite the amount of metal at the top. Because there is no pave on the shank, the ring is easy to wear every day and easy to keep clean.

Metal options

Choose 925 sterling silver, or 10K, 14K or 18K gold in yellow, rose or white. Every metal is fully hallmarked. White gold is finished with rhodium for a bright cool white. On an all metal design like this one the metal itself is the decoration, so pick the color you want to see every day.

Ring size

Every ring is made to order in your size. Select your size at checkout. If you are not sure of your size, order anyway and contact us, and we will help you confirm it before the ring goes into production.

Custom orders

We can change the center carat weight, the color and clarity grade, or add a small diamond inside the knot work if you want a little extra light. Write to us at https://mapplegems.com/pages/contact and we will quote your version.

Frequently asked questions

Is the center stone a real diamond
Yes. A lab grown diamond is real diamond. It has the same carbon crystal structure, the same hardness of 10 on the Mohs scale and the same optical behaviour as a mined diamond. The only difference is where it was grown.

Does the ring come with a certificate
Yes. An IGI certificate for the center stone is included at no extra charge.

Are there any small diamonds on the band
No. This design is deliberately all metal apart from the center stone. If you would like accents set into the knot work we can do that as a custom order.

What does the trinity knot mean
It is a single continuous line that loops three times with no beginning and no end. It is read as a symbol of continuity, and the three loops are commonly taken to stand for past, present and future.

Can this ring be resized later
Yes. The twisted shank at the base can be sized in either direction by a jeweller. Your first resizing with us is free.

Does a wedding band sit flush against it
Not completely, because the knot work sits proud on both shoulders. A straight band will meet it at the outer edge and most customers are happy with that look. A contoured band can be made to follow the twist if you prefer.

How is this different from your other twisted band rings
Our twisted vine pave ring sets diamonds along the twist and adds a hidden halo. Our sculpted metal leaf vine ring uses carved leaves. This one is a Celtic knot design with an open triquetra gallery and no accent stones at all.

Will the open gallery collect dirt
Less than a closed basket, because the open work lets you rinse straight through it. Warm water, mild soap and a soft brush is all it needs.

Which metal should I choose
White gold and sterling silver keep the knot work crisp and cool. Yellow gold gives the design a more traditional Celtic look. Rose gold warms it without softening the lines.

Why buy a lab grown diamond

A lab grown diamond lets you put a genuinely large emerald cut on a plain metal band, which is exactly where a big stone shows best. You get the same material as a mined diamond, a documented origin, and a price that makes 4 and 5 carat weights realistic.
