An emerald cut lab grown diamond in four slim claws on a band formed from two strands of metal braided around one another like rope. There are no accent stones anywhere on the ring.

A rope band is harder to make well than it looks. The two strands have to keep an even pitch all the way round, meet the setting cleanly on both sides and finish without a visible join, and each strand has to be polished separately before the band is assembled. Done properly, the twist catches light in a continuous chain of small highlights that moves as your hand moves, which is something no flat band can do.

The setting stays plain and low, with four fine claws holding the corners of the stone and an open gallery beneath so light can reach the pavilion. Keeping the head simple is deliberate. With a textured band, adding pave or a halo would give the eye too many places to go.

The pairing works because an emerald cut is a still, architectural stone. Setting it on something with movement underneath gives the ring life without touching the diamond itself.

Band details

The rope runs the full circumference and merges into the setting at the shoulders. Inside, the band is finished smooth and slightly domed so the texture is on the outside only and the ring is comfortable against the finger.

Metal options

Choose 925 sterling silver, or 10K, 14K or 18K gold in yellow, rose or white. Every metal is fully hallmarked. White gold is finished with rhodium for a bright cool white. Because this design has no stones on the band, the metal and its texture are the decoration.

Is the center stone a real diamond
Yes. A lab grown diamond is real diamond. It has the same carbon crystal structure, the same hardness of 10 on the Mohs scale and the same optical behaviour as a mined diamond. The only difference is where it was grown.

Does the ring come with a certificate
Yes. An IGI certificate for the center stone is included at no extra charge.

Is the rope pattern cast or made from real strands
The band is built from two strands twisted together rather than a cast imitation of a twist, which is why the grooves are clean and the highlights run continuously rather than breaking up.

Is a textured band harder to keep clean
Slightly, because dust can settle in the grooves. Warm water, mild soap and a soft brush clears it in a minute, and there is no pave to worry about.

Can this ring be resized later
Yes, but the rope pattern has to be rejoined carefully so the twist still lines up. We do that as part of your free first resizing.

How is this different from your other twisted band rings

Yes. The rope is on the outside only, the inside is smooth, and there are no raised stones to catch.

Which metal should I choose
White gold and sterling silver make the twist read as light and shadow. Yellow and rose gold make it read as warm braided metal, which is the more traditional look.
