An emerald cut lab grown diamond framed by a halo of round brilliants, each held by round beaded prongs that stand proud around the outside of the frame, on a plain polished band.

The prongs are the design here. Instead of hiding the metal that holds the halo, the setter leaves each one as a small polished ball sitting on the outer edge, so the frame ends in a ring of bright dots rather than a smooth line. Seen from above the effect is a sunburst, and it is a treatment lifted directly from mid century cluster rings, where visible beaded prongs were a signature rather than something to disguise.

Because the beads catch light independently of the diamonds, the halo reads as two layers: the stones themselves and a bright outline around them. That is what makes this look different from a modern pave halo, which aims for a single continuous glow.

The band is deliberately quiet, slim and fully polished with no stones, so all the decoration stays at the head. An emerald cut suits the arrangement because its straight edges give the surrounding circle of stones something geometric to sit against.

Band details

A slim rounded shank, fully polished, joining the halo cleanly on both sides with no stones on the band. It keeps the ring light and makes the head look larger by contrast.

Metal options

Choose 925 sterling silver, or 10K, 14K or 18K gold in yellow, rose or white. Every metal is fully hallmarked. White gold is finished with rhodium for a bright cool white. Yellow gold is the traditional choice for a beaded prong halo because the gold beads read clearly against the diamonds.

Frequently asked questions

Is the center stone a real diamond
Yes. A lab grown diamond is real diamond. It has the same carbon crystal structure, the same hardness of 10 on the Mohs scale and the same optical behaviour as a mined diamond. The only difference is where it was grown.

Does the ring come with a certificate
Yes. An IGI certificate for the center stone is included at no extra charge.

Why are the prongs visible
Because they are meant to be. Beaded prongs are part of the decoration in vintage cluster work, adding a second ring of light around the halo. Hiding them would make the ring look modern, which is not what this design is.

Will the beaded prongs catch on clothing
They are small, rounded and polished, so in normal wear they behave well. They are more prominent than a pave halo, so we would not recommend this design for heavy manual work.

Can this ring be resized later
Yes. The band carries no stones, so sizing is straightforward. Your first resizing with us is free.

How is this different from your other halo rings
Our bold shared prong halo uses much larger stones and carries diamonds down the band. Our floral petal halo gives each accent a milgrain petal. This design is the vintage cluster version, with visible beaded prongs and a completely plain shank.

Does a wedding band sit flush against it
The halo overhangs the band slightly, so a straight band meets it at the edge. A contoured band closes the gap and we can make one to match.

How do I clean it
Warm water, mild soap and a soft brush, paying attention to the underside of the halo where dust collects.

Which metal should I choose
Yellow or rose gold to show the beaded prongs clearly. White gold or sterling silver if you want the halo to read as one continuous field of diamonds.
