An emerald cut lab grown diamond is held in corner claws above two kite shaped shoulder plates, each edged in milgrain and set with small diamonds on its face and along its flank. The band narrows again beyond the kites and continues plain. It is a deco arrangement, and the shape of the shoulder is doing more work than it appears to.

A round shank has a problem when you want to decorate it: its surface curves away from the viewer, so anything set into it is only half visible from the front and disappears entirely at an angle. The kite solves this by flattening the shoulder into a broad angled facet that faces forward, then a second one that faces sideways. Stones set on the front plane are seen when the hand is held out; stones set on the flank are seen when the hand turns. The milgrain edge that outlines each kite is not only decorative either. A row of tiny beads along an edge catches light at a different angle to the polished face beside it, which visually sharpens the boundary and makes the plate read as a deliberate shape rather than a swelling in the band. It also hides the fine scratches that any raised edge collects first.

Can this ring be resized
Yes. The lower shank is plain, so resizing does not disturb any setting.

How long does the ring take to make
Each ring is made to order. The milgrain is applied by hand, so production usually takes twelve to sixteen working days before dispatch.
