Step cut stones show their body colour more openly than brilliants, so a white metal keeps the emerald reading icy while yellow and rose gold lend it warmth. Because the pave is a single narrow row, a warm metal keeps the band looking slim rather than busy. For daily wear 14K is harder than 18K and better protects the corners of a step cut stone.

Frequently asked questions

What is a hidden halo?
A ring of small diamonds set around the base of the centre stone facing outward. From above you see only the emerald cut. From the side it shows as a bright collar underneath.

Why is the setting height relatively high?
An emerald cut has significant depth below the girdle. Setting it a little higher lets that depth be seen from the side and lets light travel through the pavilion rather than being blocked by the shank.

Why does an emerald cut sparkle less than a round?
It is cut with long parallel steps rather than many small facets, so it produces wide mirror like flashes instead of fine glitter. That open surface is also why clarity matters more, and why we set only VVS2 stones.

Does the carat option include the halo and pave?
No. The carat you choose is the weight of the emerald centre only. The hidden halo and pave are additional at every carat weight.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond?
Yes. Same carbon structure, hardness and brilliance as a mined diamond. Only the origin differs.

Do I get a certificate?
Yes. A free IGI certificate for the centre stone comes with every order, listing colour, clarity, cut grade and carat weight.

How long does it take to make?
