An emerald cut lab grown diamond held in four claws above a hidden halo, on a completely plain slim band with no arch, no taper and no accent stones anywhere along it. This is the most stripped back way we set a hidden halo. There is no cathedral rise lifting the head and no pave running down the shoulders, so the only thing anywhere on the ring besides the centre stone is the rectangular collar of small diamonds beneath its girdle, and that collar is invisible unless the ring is turned. Looked at from above it is simply a long clean rectangle on a bare gold shank. Looked at from the side it has a fine line of light where every other plain solitaire has solid metal. E colour, VVS2 clarity throughout, free IGI certificate for the centre stone. Made to order in Surat in ten metals and four carat weights.

Metal options

Available in 925 sterling silver, 10K yellow gold, 10K rose gold, 10K white gold, 14K yellow gold, 14K rose gold, 14K white gold, 18K yellow gold, 18K rose gold and 18K white gold. With a bare shank and no shoulder stones, the metal is most of what you see besides the diamond. Yellow and rose gold read as a fine warm line under a large rectangle, white gold makes the setting recede almost entirely. For daily wear 14K is harder than 18K and better protects the corners of an emerald cut.

Frequently asked questions

What is a hidden halo?
A ring of small diamonds set around the underside of the centre stone, below the girdle. You cannot see it looking down at the ring, only from the side. Here it is rectangular so it follows the emerald cut's outline exactly.

Why choose a hidden halo over a visible one?
An emerald cut is chosen for its clean unbroken outline, and a visible halo breaks exactly that. A hidden halo adds light and side profile interest while leaving the face of the ring completely uninterrupted.

How is this different from your cathedral version?
The shoulders here run straight into the head with no arch, and the band is left completely plain. It sits lower and reads more minimal than the cathedral or cigar band versions of the same stone.

Why does an emerald cut show clarity so clearly?
Its long open step facets act like windows into the stone rather than scattering light. That is why we set only VVS2 in this shape.

Is this easy to pair with a wedding band?
Yes, very. The shank is plain and straight where a band meets it, with no pave to line up and no arch in the way.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond?
Yes. Same carbon structure, hardness and brilliance as a mined diamond. Only the origin differs.
