An emerald cut lab grown diamond held in four claws over a pave hidden halo, on a knife edge band. A knife edge shank rises to a ridge along its centre line instead of being flat or rounded, so the metal catches light in two narrow bright lines down the finger. Pave is set into the sloping faces on either side of that ridge. The result is a band with far more movement than a plain shank, without any additional width.

Band details

The shank is a knife edge profile, rising to a polished ridge along its centre with pave set into the angled faces either side. The ridge is left bright and unset so it reads as a line of metal running through the diamonds. The inside of the band is rounded for comfort.

Metal options

Choose 925 sterling silver with rhodium plating, or solid 10K, 14K or 18K gold in yellow, rose or white. Yellow gold gives the warm reading shown in the photographs and shows the knife edge ridge most clearly. White gold, rhodium finished, blends the ridge and the pave together. Rose gold is the softest. Every metal is hallmarked and every carat weight is available in every metal.

Is the centre stone a real diamond
Yes. A lab grown diamond is chemically, physically and optically identical to a mined diamond and is graded on the same scale by the same laboratories.

Does the ring come with a certificate
Yes. An IGI certificate for the centre stone is included at no extra cost with every order.

What is a knife edge band
A shank that rises to a ridge along its centre rather than being flat or domed. It reflects light in two bright lines down the finger and makes a narrow band look more substantial than it is.

Why does an emerald cut look different from other diamonds
It is a step cut, with long parallel facets rather than the small triangular ones of a brilliant. It gives broad mirror like flashes rather than fine sparkle, and it shows the clarity of the stone openly, which is why we use VVS2.

Is a knife edge comfortable
Yes. The ridge is on the outside of the band only. The inside is rounded exactly like any comfort fit shank.

Can I wear a wedding band beside it
Yes. The shank is straight, so a plain or pave band sits flush on either side. A knife edge wedding band pairs particularly well, and we make one to order.

How long does it take to make
Made to order rings usually leave our workshop within 10 to 14 working days. We confirm the date by email once your size is set.
