Frequently asked questions

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond? Yes. A lab grown diamond has the same carbon crystal structure, hardness and brilliance as a mined diamond. The only difference is that it is grown in a laboratory rather than extracted from the earth. It is graded by the same laboratories using the same criteria.

What color and clarity are the diamonds in this ring? Both the emerald cut center stone and the baguette side stones are E color and VVS2 clarity. This matters more here than on most rings, because both the centre and the sides are step cuts with long open facets that show any tint or inclusion readily.

What is a baguette cut? A baguette is a long rectangular step cut with straight facets and no brilliant faceting. It gives a clean flash of light rather than sparkle, and it was used heavily in Art Deco jewelry, which is why it reads as period even in a modern setting.
