Emerald Cut Lab Grown Diamond East West Half Bezel Solitaire Ring

An emerald cut lab grown diamond turned east to west and held in a half bezel, with a plain slim band. The half bezel is what makes this work. Metal caps only the two short ends of the stone, folded neatly over each cropped corner, while both long sides are left completely open with no claw or rim crossing them anywhere. Set east to west the diamond then runs the full width of the finger as an uninterrupted rectangle, with nothing but two clean gold brackets holding it in place. A full bezel would have outlined the whole stone and a claw setting would have put four points across the corners. This does neither, which is why it reads as the most graphic and architectural way to wear an emerald cut. E colour, VVS2 clarity, free IGI certificate. Metal options

Available in 925 sterling silver, 10K yellow gold, 10K rose gold, 10K white gold, 14K yellow gold, 14K rose gold, 14K white gold, 18K yellow gold, 18K rose gold and 18K white gold. The two bezel caps are the only metal near the stone, so they read as deliberate blocks of colour at each end. Yellow and rose gold turn them into a strong graphic frame, white gold reduces them to a bright edge. For daily wear 14K is harder than 18K and keeps a bezel wall crisp at the corners.

What is a half bezel?
A bezel that wraps only part of the stone rather than its whole perimeter. Here metal caps the two short ends of the emerald cut and leaves both long sides completely open, so the stone is held securely at its most vulnerable points while remaining visually uninterrupted along its length.

What does east west mean?
The stone is set sideways, with its length running across the finger rather than along it. On a long shape like an emerald cut this creates a horizontal bar of diamond and is a distinctly modern way to wear the stone.

Is a half bezel secure?
Yes. The cropped corners of an emerald cut are the only genuinely vulnerable parts of the stone, and a half bezel covers precisely those while leaving the flat sides open. It is more protective than four claws and less enclosing than a full bezel.

Why does an emerald cut show clarity so clearly?
Its long open step facets act like windows into the stone rather than scattering light. That is why we set only VVS2 in this shape, where inclusions would be visible in a lower grade.

Will a wedding band sit flush?
Yes, easily. The shank is plain and the stone sits low, so a flat band rests against it cleanly on either side.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond?
Yes. Same carbon structure, hardness and brilliance as a mined diamond. Only the origin differs.
