An emerald cut lab grown diamond enclosed in a full rub over bezel, carried on cathedral shoulders that arch up from a plain slim band. There are no claws anywhere on this ring. A continuous wall of metal is pushed over the girdle all the way around, which is the oldest and by some distance the most protective way to set a stone, and the only setting with nothing to catch on clothing or lift. It suits an emerald cut particularly well because the bezel repeats the stone's own straight edges and clean corners rather than interrupting them, so the outline reads as a single crisp rectangle. The cathedral shoulders sweep up to meet the bezel from underneath, giving the head height and an arched profile from the side while keeping the stone sitting low on the finger. A bezel shows more metal than any claw setting, so the colour choice matters more here than usual. Yellow and rose gold give a warm frame that outlines the emerald cut boldly, white gold reads as a near invisible rim and lets the stone dominate. For daily wear 14K is harder than 18K and resists denting on a wide bezel wall.

What is a bezel setting?
A continuous rim of metal that wraps the entire girdle of the stone and is burnished over its edge. It holds without claws, protects the corners and edges completely, and sits flush so nothing catches.

Is a bezel more secure than claws?
Yes. Claws can bend or wear and need periodic checking. A bezel grips the whole perimeter at once and is the setting most often recommended for people who work with their hands or wear a ring daily without removing it.

Does a bezel hide part of the diamond?
It covers the girdle edge, which is the least visible part of the stone. The table and crown, where all the light return happens, remain completely open. A little face up area is traded for the security.

What is a cathedral setting?
Shoulders that arch upward from the band to meet the head, like the vaulted arches of a cathedral. They add height and profile detail while letting the stone sit lower and more securely than a plain raised head would.

Why does an emerald cut show clarity so clearly?
Its long open step facets act like windows into the stone rather than scattering light. That is why we set only VVS2 in this shape, where inclusions would be visible in a lower grade.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond?
Yes. Same carbon structure, hardness and brilliance as a mined diamond. Only the origin differs.
