Most hidden halos are set only along the two long sides of the basket, because those are the faces people see when a hand is held out flat, and leaving the short ends bare saves stones and setting time. Wrapping the halo all the way round costs more of both, and the reason to do it is that a ring is not only seen from the front. Someone sitting beside you sees the end of the setting, not its side. Carrying the pave around the corners means there is no angle from which the ring shows a bare panel of metal under the stone.

Band details

The shank is slim and carries pave along its length with a short plain section at the base for resizing. Because the stones continue around the outer edges rather than sitting only on the top face, the band keeps its brightness even when the ring is viewed edge on.

White gold is shown here and is the natural partner for a design this densely set, since a white metal disappears between the stones and the whole ring reads as diamond. What does a wrapped hidden halo mean?
The concealed row of diamonds runs around the full perimeter of the basket rather than along the two long sides only, so there is no angle where the setting shows bare metal beneath the stone.

Is it worth the extra cost?
It depends how the ring will be seen. From directly above there is no difference. From the side, and especially from the ends, a wrapped halo keeps the ring bright where a partial one shows plain metal.

What is the difference between a radiant and an emerald cut?
Both are rectangular with cropped corners, but a radiant is brilliant faceted underneath so it sparkles like a round, while an emerald cut is a step cut with a clear open table.

Will this many small stones need maintenance?
A densely set ring benefits from a check every couple of years, which is quick and inexpensive. Regular cleaning matters more than with a plain ring, because film under small stones is what dulls them.
