There are no claws anywhere on this ring. A bezel is a wall of metal folded over the edge of the stone, and it holds more securely than any number of prongs because there is nothing thin to bend or catch. Wrapping only the two ends rather than the whole outline keeps the long sides of the radiant fully exposed, so you lose none of the width that makes an elongated cut worth choosing. Band details

A slim round band with a high polish, unbroken all the way around and set with no stones. The bezel walls rise directly from the shank with no gallery beneath, so the stone sits as low against the finger as it can. Nothing else is added.

Metal options

Available in 925 sterling silver, 10K yellow gold, 10K rose gold, 10K white gold, 14K yellow gold, 14K rose gold, 14K white gold, 18K yellow gold, 18K rose gold and 18K white gold. Yellow gold, as photographed, turns the two bezel walls into deliberate blocks of warm colour framing a colourless stone. White gold and sterling silver let the metal disappear so only the diamond registers. Rose gold is the softest option.

Frequently asked questions

What is a half bezel?
A wall of metal folded over two opposite edges of the stone, leaving the other two open. It gives the security of a bezel where the stone is most vulnerable while keeping most of the diamond exposed.

Is a bezel more secure than claws?
Yes, generally. There is no thin prong to bend, snag or wear through. The stone is held by a continuous band of metal rather than four small points of contact.

Does a bezel make the diamond look smaller?
A full bezel can, because metal covers the outer edge all the way round. A half bezel does not, because the long sides of the radiant are left completely uncovered and that is the dimension the eye measures.

Is this good for people who work with their hands?
It is the setting we recommend most often for that. No claws to catch on gloves or fabric, a low profile, and the corners of the radiant are enclosed in metal.

What is an elongated radiant cut?
A rectangle with cut corners and a brilliant faceting pattern beneath, so it has the outline of an emerald cut but returns light in bright flashes like a round. Cut longer than wide, it flatters the finger.

Do I get a certificate?

Will it sit flush with a wedding band?
Yes, better than most. There is no gallery or halo lifting the head, so a straight band sits close against the shank.

A lab grown diamond is chemically and optically the same as a mined one, graded on the same scales by the same laboratories, at a fraction of the price. On a setting this minimal almost the entire price is the stone, which is what makes a VVS2 E colour radiant at 4 or 5 carat possible.
