An elongated radiant cut lab grown diamond in a four claw head over a hidden halo, carried on a shank pierced with scroll filigree, edged in milgrain beading and set with pave along the top. Most engagement rings put everything into the face. This one puts as much into the gallery. Hold it up at eye level and you see openwork scrolls cut through the sides of the band, a beaded rim tracing every edge, a line of pave riding over the shoulders and a small diamond set crossover where the shank meets the head. Band details

Scroll filigree is pierced through both outer faces of the shank so light passes through the metal from the side. Milgrain beading edges the scroll panels and follows the gallery outline. Round pave diamonds run along the upper surface of the band, and a diamond set crossover sits beneath the basket. The inside of the band is smooth and rounded for comfort.

Metal options

Available in 925 sterling silver, 10K yellow gold, 10K rose gold, 10K white gold, 14K yellow gold, 14K rose gold, 14K white gold, 18K yellow gold, 18K rose gold and 18K white gold. White gold, as photographed, reads closest to the platinum used in original antique work and shows the milgrain most sharply. Yellow gold gives a warmer heirloom look. Rose gold is the gentlest of the three against skin tone.

Ring size

Every ring is made to your finger size, so choose your size at checkout. Because the filigree, milgrain and pave run around most of the band, please order your correct size where possible. Resizing is possible but the pattern has to be rebuilt at the join. Ask us for a free size guide if you are unsure.

Custom orders

We can simplify the shank to plain metal, drop the milgrain for a cleaner modern finish, change the centre to oval, emerald or cushion, or set the centre with moissanite or a coloured gemstone. Frequently asked questions

What is filigree?
Metal that has been cut and pierced by hand so light passes through the openings. Here it is worked into the sides of the shank as scroll curls, which is why the band looks lacy in profile and solid from the front.

What is milgrain?
A line of tiny metal beads raised along an edge with a knurling wheel. It softens every outline and catches light along the rim. Filigree and milgrain together are the signature of early twentieth century jewellery.

Why choose an elongated radiant?
A radiant has the cut corner rectangular outline of an emerald cut but a brilliant faceting pattern beneath, so it gives fire rather than the broad flashes of a step cut. Cutting it long rather than square flatters the finger and makes the stone look larger for its weight.

What is a hidden halo?
Small diamonds set into the basket under the centre stone, facing outward rather than up. Invisible from above, but it lights the profile, which matters on a ring designed to be seen from the side.

Is the pave secure?
Every pave stone sits in its own raised bead of metal and each setting is checked before shipping. We also offer a lifetime prong and pave check, so you can send it back any time for tightening.

Do I get a certificate?
Yes. A free IGI certificate for the centre stone comes with every order, listing colour, clarity, cut and carat weight.

What is the difference between a lab grown and a mined diamond?
Only where it was made. A lab grown diamond is carbon in the same crystal structure with the same hardness, refractive index and grading scales, and IGI grades both the same way.

Why buy a lab grown diamond

A lab grown diamond is chemically and optically the same as a mined one, graded on the same scales by the same laboratories, at a fraction of the price. That is what makes a VVS2 E colour elongated radiant at 4 or 5 carat achievable in a setting this heavily worked. It is grown rather than excavated, so there is no mining involved and the origin is never in question.
