What is the difference between a radiant cut and an emerald cut?
They share the same rectangular outline with cropped corners, but the faceting is opposite. An emerald cut is a step cut with long parallel facets and a clear open table. A radiant is brilliant faceted underneath, so it sparkles with the fire of a round while keeping a rectangular shape.

Why do radiant cuts hide inclusions well?
The dense brilliant faceting breaks light up into many small flashes, which visually masks small imperfections. This is the opposite of a step cut, where you look straight into the stone.

What does a compact head change?
Less metal is visible around the stone, the ring sits lower on the finger, and it is less likely to catch. It also makes the diamond look slightly larger because nothing frames or crowds its outline.

Will four claws hold a five carat stone safely?
Yes. Four claws set on the cropped corners of a radiant give a very secure hold because the corners are the thickest, most robust part of the stone. We can add a fifth or sixth claw on request.
