Elongated Hexagon Cut Lab Grown Diamond Six Claw Hidden Halo Ring

An elongated hexagon cut lab grown diamond held in six claws above a hidden halo, on a plain slim band. The hexagon, sometimes called a Dutch marquise, is a step cut with six straight sides that comes to a point at the top and bottom rather than curving. That gives it long parallel facets like an emerald cut but an outline that no other shape has, sharply geometric and considerably longer than it is wide. Six claws are used rather than four because the two points need protecting and the four flat sides need holding, which the six positions handle exactly. The hidden halo beneath adds a bright collar without touching the outline above. E colour, VVS2 clarity, free IGI certificate for the centre stone. Made to order in Surat in ten metals and four carat weights.

Metal options

Available in 925 sterling silver, 10K yellow gold, 10K rose gold, 10K white gold, 14K yellow gold, 14K rose gold, 14K white gold, 18K yellow gold, 18K rose gold and 18K white gold. A step cut shows its body colour more openly than a brilliant, so a white metal keeps the hexagon reading icy and emphasises its geometry, while yellow and rose gold lend it warmth and a more antique character. For daily wear 14K is harder than 18K and better protects the two points of the stone.

Frequently asked questions

What is an elongated hexagon cut?
A step cut diamond with six straight sides, longer than it is wide, coming to a point at each end. It is sometimes called a Dutch marquise. It combines the broad flashes of an emerald cut with a sharply geometric outline that is genuinely uncommon.

Are the points fragile?
The two ends are the thinnest part of the stone, which is why a claw sits over each one. Protected that way it is entirely suitable for everyday wear.

Why does it sparkle differently from a round?
Step cuts are faceted with long parallel planes rather than many small triangular facets, so they produce wide mirror like flashes instead of fine glitter. It is a quieter, more architectural kind of brilliance, and it is why clarity matters more, which is why we set only VVS2 stones.

What is a hidden halo?
A ring of small diamonds set around the base of the centre stone facing outward. From above you see only the hexagon. From the side it shows as a bright collar underneath.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond?
Yes. Same carbon structure, hardness and brilliance as a mined diamond. Only the origin differs.

Do I get a certificate?
Yes. A free IGI certificate for the centre stone comes with every order, listing colour, clarity, cut grade and carat weight.

How long does it take to make?
Production usually takes ten to fourteen working days, plus shipping time to your address.

Why buy a lab grown diamond

A lab grown diamond gives the same hardness, brilliance and fire as a mined stone at a fraction of the price, which is what makes a certified 4 or 5 carat hexagon cut achievable. Unusual shapes like this are also far easier to source as lab grown stones, since they can be cut to order rather than found. Every centre stone we set is independently certified.
