An elongated cushion cut lab grown diamond in a four claw head, flanked by a substantial round brilliant either side, on a plain polished band. Most trilogies use small angular sides that serve the centre stone. These do not. The rounds are large enough to be read as diamonds in their own right, and because they are circular against a rectangle they create a deliberate contrast of shape rather than a continuation of it. The eye moves across three distinct stones instead of one wide block. It is the oldest form of the three stone ring and still the most balanced, which is why it works on a bare shank with nothing else to support it. With no pave anywhere, the metal frames three stones and nothing else. Yellow and rose gold define each one separately, which suits a design built on contrast between round and rectangular. White gold blends them into a single run of light. For daily wear 14K is harder than 18K and holds three separate claw settings more securely.

Frequently asked questions

Why round side stones rather than angular ones?
Round sides contrast with the rectangular centre instead of extending it, so the three stones read as three separate diamonds. Angular sides such as trapezoids do the opposite, merging into one wide block. Which is better depends entirely on whether you want contrast or continuity.

What does a three stone ring mean?
The three stones are usually read as past, present and future, one for where a couple began, one for where they are, one for what is ahead. It is why trilogy rings suit both engagements and milestone anniversaries.

What is an elongated cushion?
A cushion cut stretched into a rectangle while keeping its softly rounded corners. It runs along the finger and slims the hand the way an oval does, while retaining the antique character of a cushion.

Does the carat weight include the side stones?
No. The carat option you choose is the weight of the cushion centre only. The two round side stones are additional and scale in proportion at every carat weight.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond?
Yes. Same carbon structure, hardness and brilliance as a mined diamond. Only the origin differs.
