Because a marquise is long and a round is compact, the alternation creates a visible rhythm along the shoulder rather than the even repetition of pave, and it echoes the elongated outline of the cushion at the centre. The metal between each accent is part of the pattern here, so its colour is doing visible work. Yellow and rose gold separate the marquise and round stones clearly, white gold blends them into one broken line of light. For daily wear 14K is harder than 18K and holds individually set accents more securely.

Frequently asked questions

Why alternate marquise and round accents?
The two shapes read very differently. A marquise is long and pointed, a round is compact and even, so alternating them gives the band a rhythm instead of a uniform row. It also lets the marquise points echo the elongated shape of the centre stone.

What is an elongated cushion?
A cushion cut stretched into a rectangle while keeping its softly rounded corners. It runs along the finger and slims the hand the way an oval does, while retaining the antique character of a cushion.

Why are the accents spaced apart?
Leaving polished metal between the stones keeps the band slim, makes cleaning easier than continuous pave, and gives each accent its own outline instead of merging them into one line.

Does the carat option include the accents?
No. The carat you choose is the weight of the cushion centre only. The marquise and round accents are additional at every carat weight.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond?
Yes. Same carbon structure, hardness and brilliance as a mined diamond. Only the origin differs.
