An oval lab grown diamond set across the finger, with a tapered baguette standing upright on each side, running along the direction of the band. The centre stone lies horizontal and the side stones stand vertical, so the three of them together draw a cross rather than a line.

Almost every side stone design in existence runs in the same direction as the centre: an oval with ovals, an emerald with baguettes laid flat, all of them extending one axis. Crossing the axes instead does something none of those can. The horizontal centre stone makes the finger read wider at the knuckle, which is what an east west setting is for, while the two upright baguettes extend the design along the finger and give back the length the rotation took away. The result is a ring that occupies more of the hand in both directions at once, from the same total weight of diamond. There is a setting consequence too. Because the baguettes stand upright, their long edges face outward rather than toward the centre stone, so they cannot be shaped to the oval's curve. Instead each one is set a hair clear of the girdle with a fine wall of metal between, which is what stops the straight edge and the curve fighting each other where they meet.

Band details
