A green emerald cut emerald turned sideways across the finger, with a band of pave set lab grown diamonds that does not run straight into it but sweeps past on the diagonal, crossing above the stone on one side and below it on the other. That bypass is what makes the ring. Instead of a stone sitting on a band, you get a continuous diamond line with a rectangle of green suspended inside it, and the whole design reads as movement rather than symmetry.

Band details

The shank splits and sweeps past the centre stone at an angle rather than meeting it square, so the pave runs unbroken from one shoulder to the other. The underside is plain and rounded, and the crossing point sits flat enough not to catch.

Metal options

Choose 925 sterling silver with rhodium plating, or solid 10K, 14K or 18K gold in yellow, rose or white. White gold, rhodium finished, gives the cool contrast shown in the photographs and is the sharpest setting for a green stone. Yellow gold warms the emerald and gives a more traditional, antique reading. Rose gold sits in between. Every metal is hallmarked and every carat weight is available in every metal.

Does the ring come with a certificate
Yes. A certificate for the centre stone is included at no extra cost with every order, and the pave diamonds are IGI grade matched.

How hard is an emerald
Emerald sits between 7.5 and 8 on the Mohs scale. It is harder than most coloured stones but more brittle than diamond, so we recommend removing the ring for heavy manual work and never cleaning it in an ultrasonic machine.

Why do emeralds have visible inclusions
Almost every emerald has internal features, known in the trade as jardin. They are accepted as part of the stone rather than treated as flaws, and they are what tells you the stone is a real emerald.

What does east west setting mean
The long axis of the stone runs across the finger rather than along it. It reads bolder and more contemporary, and on a rectangular stone it spans the finger in a way a lengthways setting does not.

Are the accent stones real diamonds
Yes. They are lab grown diamonds, chemically and optically identical to mined diamonds, graded E colour and VVS2 clarity.

Can I wear a wedding band beside it
Because the band crosses on the diagonal, a curved or open band sits closest. We can make one to follow the line of the bypass.

How long does it take to make
