A blue Asscher cut lab grown diamond held in a full bezel. Two things make this ring unusual in our range. The stone is a fancy blue rather than colourless, and the Asscher is a square step cut, so instead of the fine scattered sparkle of a brilliant it gives deep parallel flashes that draw the eye down into the stone. Colour and step cutting reinforce each other here: the long open facets show the blue in a way a brilliant cut would break up into glitter. The bezel wraps the whole outline in metal, which both protects the cropped corners and frames the colour. Free IGI certificate. Made to order in Surat in ten metals and four carat weights.

Side stone details

This ring has no side stones. The bezel rim and shank are plain polished metal so nothing competes with the colour of the centre stone.

Available in 925 sterling silver, 10K yellow gold, 10K rose gold, 10K white gold, 14K yellow gold, 14K rose gold, 14K white gold, 18K yellow gold, 18K rose gold and 18K white gold. Metal choice matters more with a coloured stone than a colourless one. A white metal keeps the blue reading cool and true. Yellow and rose gold sit opposite blue on the colour wheel and create a warm contrast that makes the stone look deeper, which some people prefer and others find too strong. For everyday wear 14K is harder than 18K and keeps a bezel rim crisp for longer.

Frequently asked questions

Is a blue lab grown diamond a real diamond?
Yes. It has the same carbon structure and hardness as any other diamond. The blue comes from boron introduced during growth, which is the same element responsible for colour in natural blue diamonds. It is not a coating or a treatment applied to the surface.

Why is the colour graded differently?
Colourless diamonds are graded on the D to Z scale, where less colour is better. A fancy colour diamond is graded the opposite way, on hue and saturation, so the grading here reads Fancy Blue rather than a letter. The clarity grade works the same way as on a colourless stone.

Will the blue look the same in every photograph?
No, and this is worth knowing before ordering. Coloured stones shift noticeably with lighting and with the metal around them, more so than colourless diamonds. If exact shade matters to you, contact us before ordering and we will describe what we have.

Why an Asscher for a coloured stone?
Step cuts have long open facets that show body colour clearly, where a brilliant cut chops light into small flashes and dilutes it. If you want maximum colour presence, a step cut is the better choice.

Does a bezel make the stone look smaller?
Slightly, because the rim covers the outer edge. In exchange it protects the corners and frames the colour. That trade is the same on any bezel we build.

Do I get a certificate?
Yes. A free IGI certificate for the centre stone comes with every order.

How long does it take to make?
Production usually takes ten to fourteen working days, plus shipping time.
