Band details

The shank is a plain band that tapers very slightly as it approaches the bezel, so the rim reads as the widest point of one continuous line rather than as a separate component sitting on top of a ring. There are no stones anywhere along it. The join between shank and bezel is filed and polished until it disappears.

Metal options

Choose from 925 sterling silver, or 10K, 14K and 18K gold in yellow, rose or white. Rose gold draws a warm blush line around the whole stone and is the most graphic of the three golds. Yellow gold gives a stronger, richer outline. White gold and sterling silver make the rim nearly vanish so the oval reads as almost frameless. Every metal is finished by hand in our workshop.

How thin can the bezel rim be?
Thin enough to read as a drawn line rather than a frame, but thick enough to hold the stone securely. We work to the minimum that is safe for the carat weight you choose, and heavier stones need slightly more metal.

Does a bezel make the diamond look smaller?
A fine rim adds a little metal around the outline, but it also gives the stone a defined edge, which can make the head read larger and more solid overall.

Does a bezel reduce sparkle?
Slightly less light enters from the sides than with an open prong setting, but the pavilion stays open underneath so light still passes through the stone. In ordinary daylight most people never notice.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond?
Yes. A lab grown diamond has the same carbon crystal structure, hardness, refractive index and fire as a mined diamond. The only difference is that it was grown in a controlled environment rather than pulled from the ground.
